Premium super-matte and high-gloss fronts on melamine-faced MDF
A thinner super-matte or high-gloss system for kitchen fronts and horizontal surfaces: Duoprime® M activates the melamine so the base coat bonds directly — better scratch resistance and machining, less coating, the same high-end look.
Conventional primers are thick and soft so they can stick and conform to the surface. That soft layer then has to be protected by enough hard coating on top — which is where the weight and the cost go. Duoprime® M works the other way round: it activates the melamine surface so the base coat bonds covalently to it, and the whole build-up cures into one hard, unified layer.
On premium fronts that means 5–20 g/m² less base coat, typically +1 N scratch resistance for the complete system (EN 438-2), better machining and no sanding of the melamine before coating. You keep your standard base and top coats — excimer super-matte or high-gloss — at lower application weights, with the anti-fingerprint tactility a super-matte top coat gives.
